Folio support
Folio is open-source software run by a small team. Support happens in the open, on GitHub: you open an issue or start a discussion, and we read it. This page says where to go for what, and what to include so that we can help quickly.
How to get help
Report a bug
Something does not work as it should. The form asks for what happened, the steps to reproduce, your Folio version and how it is installed.
Report a bugAsk a question
You are not sure how something works, or you are stuck while installing or connecting an AI tool. Start a discussion; others may have the same question.
Ask in DiscussionsSuggest a feature
An idea or a missing feature. Not every request will be implemented, but each one is read.
Request a featureBefore you open an issue
The answer may already be written down.
What to include
The more of this you give us, the faster we can reproduce the problem.
- The Folio version or commit.
- How it runs: Docker Compose on your computer or on a server, a container platform, or from source.
- What you did, what you expected, and what happened instead.
- The relevant part of the logs, for example
docker compose logs app.
For MCP, Claude, ChatGPT and other AI clients
- The client and its version: Claude, ChatGPT, Claude Code, Cursor, VS Code, Codex, n8n, Open WebUI or another.
- How you sign in: OAuth (a custom connector) or a personal access token, and the token scope (
readorwrite). - The MCP address you use (your own
/mcpaddress or the public demo) and the exact error the client shows. - Whether your Folio is reachable over HTTPS from the public internet, which Claude and ChatGPT need.
Remove passwords, tokens, FOLIO_SECRET and private page content from anything you post. Issues and discussions are public.
Security problems
Please do not report vulnerabilities in public issues or discussions. Use GitHub's private reporting: open the Security tab of the repository and choose "Report a vulnerability". Say which version you tested, how to reproduce the problem and what an attacker gains. We confirm that we received the report, tell you whether we can reproduce it, and keep you informed until a fix is published. There is no bug bounty program, and we ask for reasonable time to release a fix before you disclose the details.
What to expect
- Support is community support on a best-effort basis.
- There is no service level agreement and no guaranteed response time.
- Issues are read, but not every request is answered, and not every feature request will be implemented.
- Fixes are made for the latest released version.
