Terms of use

Last updated: 5 October 2026. In force from 5 October 2026.

The short version

  • The Folio software is free and open source under the MIT licence. Use it, change it, run it.
  • The demo is a shared playground, provided as is. Do not put real data or secrets into it, and do not abuse it.
  • We give no warranties and our liability is limited as far as the law allows.
  • If you run your own Folio, you are responsible for it.

1. Who we are and what these terms cover

These terms are between you and EVERGRIN ENTERPRAIZ, TOV, Creative State of Senator, BC Senator, Kniaziv Ostrozkykh str, 32/2, Kyiv 01010, Ukraine ("Evergreen", "we", "us"). Folio is a project of the Evergreen team.

They cover:

  • the website at foliowiki.online;
  • the public demo at demo.foliowiki.online ("the demo");
  • the Folio connector, to the extent that we run it (on the demo) or list it in a directory.

The Folio source code is covered by its own licence (section 2). By using the website or the demo you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use them.

How we handle personal data is described in the privacy policy.

2. The Folio software: MIT licence

The Folio code is published under the MIT licence. The licence text there is the only licence that applies to the code. These terms do not add restrictions to it, and nothing here limits what the MIT licence gives you.

In short, the MIT licence lets you use, copy, change, publish and sell the software, provided you keep the copyright and licence notice. It comes with no warranty (see section 8).

3. The website

The website describes Folio and links to its documentation. We try to keep it accurate and current, but it may contain mistakes or be out of date. Comparisons with other products are our own summary of publicly available information at the time of writing; products change, so check them yourself before you decide.

You may link to the site. Please do not copy it in a way that suggests it is yours or that we endorse you.

4. The public demo

The demo lets you try Folio without installing it. By using it you agree that:

  • It is provided as is. It may be slow, change, break, or be switched off at any time, without notice. There is no support, no service level and no promise of availability.
  • It is shared. Everyone uses the same login and the same data. Others can read, change and delete what you add, and you can do the same to theirs.
  • It is reset. Data is deleted every 24 hours, and may be deleted sooner. We do not keep or restore it.
  • It is public. Treat everything you type there as visible to everyone. Do not enter personal data, passwords, API keys, tokens or confidential information.
  • Content is untrusted. If you connect an AI client to the demo, remember that other visitors wrote the pages it reads, and they may contain instructions meant to mislead it. Do not connect an AI agent that can run commands or use your credentials.
  • Nothing you do there is private, and we may look at, edit or delete content to keep the demo working and lawful.

The demo is not a hosting service. Do not keep your own work in it.

5. What you must not do

Do not use the website or the demo to:

  • send spam or advertising, or add content whose purpose is to promote something;
  • store, post or link to illegal content, malware, or content that infringes other people's rights, including intellectual property and privacy;
  • harass, threaten or defame people, or post hateful, sexually explicit or violent content;
  • put in other people's personal data, or any secret such as passwords, keys and tokens;
  • put heavy load on the demo: load or stress tests, bulk scraping, automated mass creation of content, many parallel agents, or anything else that could slow it down for other visitors. If you need to test at scale, install your own copy; it is easy and it is yours;
  • try to get around limits, access other people's accounts or systems, or probe our servers beyond normal use. Reporting a vulnerability in good faith is welcome, see our security policy. Please do not read other people's data, damage data, or degrade the service while you test;
  • break the law that applies to you, or use the demo to do so.

We may block access, remove content or reset the demo if we think these rules were broken, or if we need to protect the service. We do not have to warn you first.

6. The Folio connector and other services

The connector lets AI clients, such as Claude or ChatGPT, read and (if you allow it) change pages in a Folio instance. When you connect one:

  • you use the AI client under its provider's own terms (for Claude, Anthropic; for ChatGPT, OpenAI). We are not a party to those terms and are not responsible for those services;
  • you decide which permissions to give (read, or read and write), and you can disconnect the app at any time in Settings, API tokens, Connected apps. An AI client with write permission can change or delete content, and AI systems make mistakes. Give the narrowest permission that does the job, and keep backups or the Git history that Folio provides;
  • you are responsible for what the connected AI client does with your permission;
  • if the instance belongs to your organisation, you need its operator's permission to connect it.

The same applies to the Folio AI assistant, which runs on your Cursor account and under Cursor's terms. A listing of the connector in a directory run by Anthropic, OpenAI or anyone else is not an endorsement by them or by us of how you use it.

7. Running your own Folio

If you install Folio, you run it on your own infrastructure and you are responsible for it: its security and updates, its backups, the data you put in it, the people you give access to, and following the laws that apply to you, including data protection law if you store other people's data. We are not a party to your instance, we do not see it, and we cannot recover it for you.

Community support is through GitHub, on a best-effort basis. It is not a service you can rely on.

8. No warranty

The website, the demo and the connector are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, merchantability, accuracy, non-infringement, and uninterrupted or error-free operation. The software is provided under the warranty disclaimer in the MIT licence.

Nothing here limits rights you have by law that cannot be limited, including consumer rights where they apply to you.

9. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, Evergreen and the people behind Folio are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, lost profits, lost data or lost business arising from the use of, or inability to use, the website, the demo or the connector. Because these are free, to the extent the law allows our total liability for anything arising from them is zero (0).

This does not exclude or limit liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law, such as liability for death or personal injury, for fraud, or for intentional or grossly negligent harm.

10. Changes, suspension and ending

We can change, suspend or stop the website, the demo or the connector at any time. You can stop using them at any time. Sections that by their nature should survive (disclaimers, limits of liability, governing law) survive.

11. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of Ukraine, and disputes are decided by the courts of Ukraine. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory rules of the country where you live.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The current version is at foliowiki.online/terms, with its date at the top. A change takes effect when it is published on this page. We do not send separate notices, so please check the page from time to time. If you keep using the website or the demo after that, you accept the new terms.
